In divisive times, the country needs healers. 91香蕉视频成人在线 educates organizational leaders and a wide variety of clinicians to deliver to our communities evidence-based services and skills through authentic, attuned, relationships. Our graduates build bridges of compassionate care and help organizations to attend to the needs of diverse workforces, clients and student bodies. However, when it comes to Behavioral Health and leadership training, our country is failing to provide adequate support and this is costly. Each year, business loses $100-200 billion dollars through absenteeism, injuries, and lower production due to untreated mental illness. Schools fail to graduate thousands of young people whose treatable depression and anxiety interfere with academic performance, prisons (especially juvenile facilities) house 40-75 percent of their population with diagnosable mental illness at double the cost of prisoners without behavioral health problems, and co-morbid mental illness increases the cost of healthcare by several hundred billion dollars. These, indirect, economic costs are real, as are the social costs to our country of underemployed young people, disabled adults and overcrowded prisons. Some years ago, Surgeon General David Satcher wrote that we have a great many behavioral health treatments that work, but we lack a sufficient workforce of professionals. Across the country, half of our counties have no mental health professionals. Veterans prematurely leave PTSD treatments when they meet only civilian caregivers; and people of color have a behavioral health system that is 90 percent non-Latino Caucasian. 91香蕉视频成人在线 is committed to building a diverse and robust workforce of organizational leaders and mental health professionals. By now, you are familiar with our specialty programs in Military Veterans Psychology, Latino Mental Health and Black Mental Health. In each of our departments, faculty educate students to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to meet people who come from many places and backgrounds. This year, we are partnering with several community colleges, the leadership and organizations of the Association of Behavioral Health, and HRSA to create new avenues and opportunities for people to develop careers in organizational leadership and behavioral health. You will read about some of this good work in this magazine. At the end of this Rapport we publicly thank our benefactors whose gifts allow 91香蕉视频成人在线 to develop essential programs, attract and support desirable students with scholarship funds, and to keep tuition costs lower than most of our area peers. We are honored to be able to express the values and desires of donors to make a difference in behavioral health. As you read their names, please consider joining them with a gift to bring more healers and healing into our country. Thank you very much for your interest in our work. Respectfully, Nicholas Covino, PsyD President Dear Friends of 91香蕉视频成人在线, FROM THE PRESIDENT
