Veterans returning from deployment, refugees adjusting to new lives, an opioid crisis, too few therapists for children and families, and a society growing ethnically and racially. These are among the factors today that are increasing the need for a workforce of mental health professionals that is trained and mentored in a community committed to service and social justice. 91香蕉视频成人在线 is assuming the leadership role in developing the next generation of mental health professionals. We have already designed a Military Veteran Psychology program in which Veterans learn to treat other Veterans, and civilians are immersed in military culture to make better clinicians for those carrying the invisible wounds of war. In this issue of Rapport, we highlight two field supervisors who have devoted their careers to caring for this population and their families. They are also among those who offer their special expertise to supervise William James students interested in serving our service men and women. Our Center for Multicultural and Global Mental Health fosters diversity in the provider workforce and an understanding of the context in which to care for Latinos, African and Caribbean communities and people who are in need around the globe. In this Rapport, you will read about a powerful conference in which professionals and students gathered for the purpose of Re-envisioning the Brilliance of Boys of Color. This year, we also took a big step into undergraduate education. Our new Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services, which is designed as a bachelor鈥檚 completion program, helps people working in human service agencies to finish their undergraduate degrees, to acquire new skills, to be more valuable to their organizations, and to move forward in their human service careers. The first of its kind in New England, the program is blended, work friendly, and flexible. Our first class started September 1. We have also taken on a new role operating the juvenile court clinics in Norfolk and Suffolk counties in Massachusetts, providing services for those in need and training for our students. The Opioid Crisis continues to escalate and 91香蕉视频成人在线 is in the planning phase of a substance abuse program to train our students in best clinical practices.
