This course will examine the historical, philosophical and theoretical foundations of the student personnel/student affairs profession. Students will learn about the purpose, organization, and functions of the various student services functional areas (i.e. residence life, student activities, admissions, etc.), the role the student affairs professional plays in the college student experience and the profession鈥檚 relationship to the academic mission of the institution.
